Divisional Meet: October 2nd, 2025 **Forms are due September 19th**
We will be running at BHP East Beach:
10:30 am: Mandatory Pre-race Meeting and Walk-through for all athletes and coaches at the staging area.
All must attend.
11:15 am: Races begin in the following order:
Grade 3 Girls (800 m)
Grade 3 Boys (800 m)
Grade 4 Girls (1000 m)
Grade 4 Boys (1000 m)
Grade 5 Girls (1200 m)
Grade 5 Boys (1200 m)
Note: When one race is starting, the next race must be at the start line getting ready to go and the race after that should be starting to walk to the start line from the staging area.
Practice Schedule:
- September 16th, 18th, 22nd, 24th, 26th, Oct 1st
Practices are scheduled during the first activity break of the day. Students are also encouraged to run at home!
Distances:
Grade 3s - 800m
Grade 4s - 1000m
Grade 5s - 1200m
Additional Information:
What to wear: It can be quite cold during the day, which makes it very cold when we are going to be out there all day. Please remind them to not only bring warm clothes for when they are not running, but also some warm layers for when they do run - it is important to keep those muscles warm! Students MUST have a good pair of runners in order to attend (no boots/sandals/crocs will be permitted). **Students are encouraged to bring a clear garbage bag they can put their bags/clothes in order to avoid them getting completely soaked while sitting outside all day if it rains/snows
Lunch: Students need to bring a lunch with them to the meet. All garbage will collected and disposed of properly. They are encouraged to bring more than one water bottle to stay hydrated!
They have been and will continue to practice very hard in order to be ready for the meet. Extra home practice can’t hurt! As mentioned in the athlete contract, students who have not attended practices or have not made an effort during practice will not be coming to the meet. I will attach a final list of students attending the meet on Wednesday, October 1st. If you do not see your child on the list, they have either decided not to continue or have not shown up to practices.
**École Dugald School students will be provided a red dragon shirt on race day. Shirts must be returned when students return to school that day.
** Parents/Guardians are welcome to come watch. We will begin at 10:30 and will run races as the previous group finishes. We do not know specific times of races as they just run one after another.
