Tripleball/Volleyball INFO

VOLLEYBALL OR TRIPLEBALL?
Grade 7s will play tripleball - it is the game of volleyball with added tosses to each side to position 6 (the back middle). This is a more developmental approach to volleyball where teams can slow it down and really work on the strategy and sequence of 'bump, set, smash'. We will use the words tripleball and volleyball interchangeably - please know that if your child is playing on the grade 7 team, it is tripleball. Grade 8s play regular volleyball with only serving and no toss to the back position.
 
PRACTICES: begin this Friday, October 3rd
Grade 7 Girls: Mondays from 3:30-5:00pm and Friday mornings from 7:30-9:00am
Grade 8 Girls: Tuesdays/Thursdays from 3:30-5:00pm
Grade 7/8 Boys: Monday mornings from 7:30-9:00am and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00pm
 
SCRIMMAGE GAMES:
We have added some additional evening games throughout the season that will count toward standings going into the final tournament. Please check back regularly to see if games have been added. Each team will probably have 1-2 game nights. Please plan for games to go until around 5:30-6:00pm.

Grade 7 Girls Tripleball games:
      **We will have a DUG1 and DUG2 team - both teams play the same nights**
  • October 9th @ DUG starting at 3:45pm (Dugald plays all 3 games) 
  • October 20th mid season tournament @ DUG - this is a tournament during the school day.
  • November 13th @ DUG starting at 3:45pm (Dugald plays all 3 games)
 
Grade 7 Boys Tripleball games:
  • October 9th @ SMS (Dugald plays all 3 games) - students will need to be picked up from school and be at SMS for 3:45. Carpooling is encouraged if you cannot provide a ride for your child.
  • October 20th mid season tournament @ SMS - this is a tournament during the school day
  • November 6th @ SMS (Dugald plays all 3 games) - students will need to be picked up from school and be at SMS for 3:45. Carpooling is encouraged if you cannot provide a ride for your child.
 
Grade 8 Girls Volleyball games:
      Dugald1:
  • October 14th @ SMS starting at 3:45pm. Dugald1 plays games 1 and 2 and should be finished playing by 4:45pm. Students will need to be picked up from school and be at SMS for 3:45. Carpooling is encouraged if you cannot provide a ride for your child.
  • October 22nd mid season tournament @ EESS - this is a tournament during the school day. Students will be bussed to EESS and back.
  • November 4th @ EESS starting at 3:45pm. Dugald1 play games 2 and 3. Students will need to be picked up from school and be at SMS for 4:30. Carpooling is encouraged if you cannot provide a ride for your child.
      
      Dugald2:
  • October 14th @ DUG starting at 3:45pm. Dugald2 plays games 1 and 3 and should be finished by 5:30-6pm
  • October 22nd mid season tournament @ EESS - this is a tournament during the school day. Students will be bussed to EESS and back.
  • November 4th @ DUG starting at 3:45pm. Dugald2 plays games 1 and 3.
 
Grade 8 Boys Volleyball games:
  • October 15th @ SMS starting at 3:45pm. 2 games, 3 sets each. Students will need to be picked up from school and be at SMS for 3:45. Carpooling is encouraged if you cannot provide a ride for your child. **Please note we have parent teacher that night to avoid booking an appt during your child's games if possible**
  • October 21st mid season tournament @SMS - this is a tournament during the school day. Students will be bussed to SMS and back.
  • October 29th @ DUG starting at 3:45pm. Dugald plays games 1 and 3 (2 sets each) and should be finished by 5:30-6:00pm.  
 
INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENTS - GRADE 8
Girls 
  1. November 7th @ SMS - this is an evening tournament after school. Stay tuned as this tournament may be cancelled due to a lack of teams entered.
  2. November 15th @ Valley Gardens Middle School - this is an all day Saturday tournament. Please be prepared to be available for the entire day while the tournament is on. We will get a schedule closer to the date that will be added to this page.
Boys
  1. November 8th @ Valley Gardens Middle School - this is an all day Saturday tournament. Please be prepared to be available for the entire day while the tournament is on. We will get a schedule closer to the date that will be added to this page.
 
SUNRISE SD SEASON TOURNAMENT - GRADE 7 AND 8
All teams will play in the season ending tournament during the school day
  • Grade 7 Tripleball will be between two locations TBD on November 20th 
  • Grade 8 Volleyball will be between two locations TBD on November 18th
 
SUNRISE CROSSOVER TOURNAMENT - GRADE 8 ONLY
If our teams finish in the top two places in the November 20th tournament, they will play on November 25th in the Crossover for the banner. Location TBD. This is during the school day tournament that would be over before the end of the school day. Busses be taken if needing to go to SMS, permission slips will have already been signed as we attached this date to the South Tournament form.
